Provisional guide: restrooms aren't verified yet. We'll update this guide as we confirm more.
At Canaveral National Seashore, Apollo Beach "Parking Areas one through five provide wheelchair accessible entry onto the beach and accessible parking spaces are located at the front of each ramp," and at the Apollo Visitor Center, "The entire building is accessible by wheelchair as well as the pavilion and the dock behind the visitor center" (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026).
Call to confirm before you go: "Call to check its availability, (386) 428-3384," the park says of its beach wheelchair (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). The physical and mobility page gives the same number, "extention zero" (NPS: Canaveral physical and mobility access (opens in new tab), [Official], last updated Jul 30, 2024). Ask whether any beach-area toilets are accessible and whether the beach wheelchair is free.

Plan your visit
- Hours (park alert): "The seashore is currently operating on the hours of 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Last entry into the seashore is at 5:00 pm" (alert dated 3/8/2026, NPS: Canaveral conditions (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). The hours page says the same and adds that the seashore "is open 7 days a week" (NPS: Canaveral hours (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026).
- Beach wheelchair (Apollo Beach only): "a beach wheelchair is available to be checked out at the visitor center. It may be checked out for a period of two hours use at the beach access ramp located across the street from the visitor center" (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). The physical and mobility page says "for a period of time" without giving hours (NPS: Canaveral physical and mobility access (opens in new tab), [Official]). "Playalinda Beach does not currently have a beach wheelchair" (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official]).
- Playalinda Beach: "thirteen beach parking areas where all have accessibility parking spots located at the entrance of the beach access ramps" (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official]). See the Heads-up on the dune ramps.

Worth your time
Checked Oct 16, 2026.
- Apollo Beach ramps and the beach wheelchair: ramps "flush with the parking lot," accessible parking at each, and a beach wheelchair to borrow for two hours (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official]). A Feb 2021 visitor found "Lots of parking lots" and a "Short walk (accessible) to the beach which was nice" (TripAdvisor review, Feb 22, 2021 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]).

Accessibility and ratings
Heads-up: Playalinda's first five ramps cross a tall dune. "The first five beach ramps traverse a tall dune. Once you travel as far as parking area number eight, the beach dune is flat allowing for much easier beach access" (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026).
Heads-up: beach toilets. The park doesn't describe its restrooms. A state travel guide says "Each parking area has a restroom with chemical toilets. There's no running water" (Visit Florida: Canaveral National Seashore beach guide (opens in new tab), [Secondary], undated), and a Feb 2021 visitor wrote that each lot has "a bathroom (pit)" (TripAdvisor review, Feb 22, 2021 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). Whether any are accessible isn't stated.
Heads-up: Seminole Rest dock and Castle Windy Trail. At Seminole Rest, the wooden section of the loop "has small inclines and declines," and the dock's "second half includes a ramp that leads down to a floating dock that does not have railings." Castle Windy Trail "can be navigated with a cane but a wheelchair would need all-terrain wheels" (NPS: Canaveral accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). Both are optional.
