Provisional guide: this is a walking event on old, narrow streets, and accessible restrooms aren't described. We'll update this guide as we confirm more.
St. Augustine, Florida, lights its historic downtown each winter. The county tourism office is clear: "this isn't a 'Let's Drive Around and Look at the Lights' event. This is a walking event. Persons with limited mobility can enjoy the Nights of Lights with the use of a wheelchair or mobility scooter" (Park-and-ride page (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026).
Please confirm before you go: call (904) 829-1711 (Nights of Lights (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026). Dates and shuttle details can change.
- Heads-up: brick and narrow streets
Plan your visit
- Dates: "Nightly from Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026 - Monday, Jan. 18, 2027" (Nights of Lights (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026).
- Price: the lights are free to see. A free park-and-ride shuttle starts on Light Up Night, Nov 21, and runs on select days (same page).
- Accessible shuttles: "The City of St. Augustine's shuttle fleet is ADA compliant," and the shuttles "are equipped with ramps/lifts." At busy times "you may experience a wait time while an accessible shuttle is dispatched" (City of St. Augustine FAQ (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026).
- Restrooms: on the busiest days the city places "70 porta-potties in eight locations" (Park-and-ride page (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026). Accessible units aren't described.
Heads-up: brick and narrow streets. The tourism office says "we have narrow streets—some paved with brick—and only one parking garage" (Park-and-ride page (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026). It suggests using the free parking and shuttles rather than driving downtown (same page).
