Accessibility and ratings
Heads-up: uneven pavement outside. The NPS warns: "Some of the pavement is cracked, unstable, or has steep changes in height." It doesn't describe the route from the accessible spaces to the door, or the entrance door itself (NPS mobility access, MP 249–341 (opens in new tab), [Official], page updated Jun 2, 2025, checked Oct 16, 2026).
What we found

Restrooms
- Past the information desk on the left, and reachable after hours from exterior doors. The women's and men's restrooms each have 1 accessible stall, running water and a changing table (NPS mobility access, MP 249–341 (opens in new tab), [Official], page updated Jun 2, 2025, checked Oct 16, 2026).
- A seated-height drinking fountain and a bottle filler are between the restroom entrances. The NPS page doesn't make clear whether they're inside or outside (same page).
Inside
- The information desk is to the left of the entrance. Bookstore staff can reach high shelves for you. The theater has room for wheelchairs, and some seats have armrests (NPS mobility access, MP 249–341 (opens in new tab), [Official], page updated Jun 2, 2025, checked Oct 16, 2026).
- Two benches by the entrance, and picnic tables on the grass (same page).
Vision and hearing
- Audio description devices for the park movie can be borrowed at the desk. There's no audio description for the exhibit-area video or the exhibits (NPS visual accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], page updated Jul 1, 2025, checked Oct 16, 2026).
- A braille park brochure can be borrowed at the desk, or downloaded as a braille-ready file. The main brochure is also audio-described, with a text-only version (same page).
- Tactile and interactive exhibits in the visitor center. Some roadside waysides have audio-description boxes, but not all of them work (same page).
- Assistive listening for the park movie is loaned at the desk. ASL interpreters for ranger programs need 3 weeks' notice (NPS deaf and hearing loss (opens in new tab), [Official], page updated Jun 2, 2025, checked Oct 16, 2026).
- Captions: the park movie is captioned, and so is a video playing in the visitor center. Other video players in the visitor center are out of order (same page).
Service animals
- Service dogs are allowed anywhere visitors can go (NPS service animals (opens in new tab), [Official], page updated Jun 2, 2025, checked Oct 16, 2026).
Details not published
- Entrance details: whether the door is automatic or manual, and its threshold. (The NPS lists the visitor center as wheelchair accessible, so Entry is still scored.)
- The route from the 2 accessible spaces to the door, given the cracked pavement.
- How many wheelchair spaces the theater has.
We'll update this page when we can.

Entry scores 5 (Venue states accessible): the NPS amenities list for the visitor center includes "Wheelchair Accessible" (NPS Parkway Visitor Center, MP 266 (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). Heads-up: the NPS warns that some outside pavement is cracked, unstable or has steep changes in height. Restrooms score 5: each restroom has an accessible stall, and they can be reached from outside after hours. Parking scores 5 for 2 accessible spaces; van-space data isn't published, and missing details don't lower a score. Staff & Info scores 4 for detailed published information, audio description, captions and assistive listening for the movie, a captioned video in the visitor center, braille brochures, tactile exhibits, staff help at the bookstore, and ASL on request. Overall is 4.5 of 5: the average of the 4 rated categories rounds to 5, but it's capped at 4.5 because the NPS itself notes the uneven outside pavement.
Ratings tagged "not personally verified" rest on information the venue published or on trusted firsthand reports; we have not personally verified them.
