Titanic Museum Attraction (Pigeon Forge, TN)

Checked on Oct 16, 2026

Provisional guide: a wheelchair user writing for Pigeon Forge tourism describes a ramped ticket entrance and accessible parking, but the museum itself doesn't describe its building access, and one visitor report questions how roomy the halls are. Entry, Paths and Staff & Info are rated; restrooms and parking aren't confirmed yet. We'll update this guide as we confirm more.

The Titanic Museum Attraction at 2134 Parkway is a self-guided tour that the museum says takes "approximately an hour and a half to two hours to complete" (Plan your visit (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026).

Plan your visit

  • Parking: "Free parking is available on-site" (Plan your visit (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). A wheelchair user writing for Pigeon Forge tourism says, "I found wheelchair accessible parking near the entrance" (Pigeon Forge Dept. of Tourism blog, May 16, 2025 (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026).
  • Tickets: the same writer says the ticket office is at the rear of the ice cream parlor and "The entrance there to pick up your tickets is ramped and easily accessible" (same post).
  • Wheelchairs (no fee stated): "Yes, wheelchairs are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please alert staff upon arrival if you would like to request a wheelchair" (FAQ (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026; same text on the Titanic FAQ (opens in new tab)). The museum doesn't say whether there's a charge.
  • Service animals: "Yes, service animals are permitted" (same page).
  • Crowds: visitors mention crowding, for example "Some of the rooms were so crowded" (TripAdvisor review, Apr 25, 2026 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). A quieter time may be easier with a wheelchair.

What we found

From the museum

  • Wheelchairs on a first-come basis and service animals permitted (FAQ (opens in new tab), [Official]). The site's "Accessibility" page covers website accessibility only, not the building.

From Pigeon Forge tourism (wheelchair user, firsthand)

  • Accessible parking near the entrance and a ramped ticket entrance (Pigeon Forge tourism blog, May 16, 2025 (opens in new tab), [Trusted]).
  • "The hallways and rooms of the ship are wide and smooth, and easily accessible" (same post). The post doesn't mention an elevator or the second floor.

From other sources

  • A pigeonforge.com business listing lists as wheelchair accessible "Parking, Entrance, Restroom, Seating" (pigeonforge.com listing (opens in new tab), [Secondary], checked Oct 16, 2026). These are listing attributes, not a firsthand report.

Heads-up: reports disagree on how roomy the halls are. The tourism blog's wheelchair-using writer says the hallways and rooms are "wide and smooth" (Pigeon Forge tourism blog, May 16, 2025 (opens in new tab), [Trusted]). A June 2026 visitor wrote that the "main issue was the tight fits for folks with groups , handicapped people" (TripAdvisor review, Jun 13, 2026 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). It's a single report, and several dated firsthand reports describe roomy halls, so it doesn't change the Paths score.

Heads-up: the second floor. The museum doesn't publish elevator information, but visitors and travel writers describe one. TheSmokies.com says "All of the upper galleries are accessible via the museum's elevator" (TheSmokies.com, Nov 3, 2023 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). A December 2023 visitor wrote that it "Has a elevator for easy access between floors" (TripAdvisor review, Dec 2023 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). Road Trips & Coffee describes "a one-story climb up the stairs (there is an elevator, too) to a second floor balcony" (Road Trips & Coffee, Oct 30, 2017, updated Apr 30, 2025 (opens in new tab), [Secondary], checked Oct 16, 2026); the writer doesn't say he uses a wheelchair. A 2014 blogger, who received free admission, wrote that "an elevator took her to the second story" (Free For All, Mar 5, 2014, hosted visit: the blogger received free admission (opens in new tab), [Secondary], hosted visit). Call to confirm before you go.

Heads-up: sloped deck exhibits. Some exhibits are decks set at an incline. A January 2024 visitor wrote, "The 45° slope was difficult to climb!" (TripAdvisor review, Jan 9, 2024 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). No source says whether the tour route goes around them, so ask staff.

Parking & Drop-off Not verified
One trusted firsthand report of accessible parking near the entrance; needs a second source.
Staff & Info 3 of 5 · Partly accessible
Why: Loaner wheelchairs are offered, but the museum doesn't say they're free, and it has no building-access page with a contact, so this scores 3.
"Yes, wheelchairs are available on a first come, first serve basis" (FAQ (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 29, 2026). Not personally verified.

Ratings tagged "not personally verified" rest on information the venue published or on trusted firsthand reports; we have not personally verified them.
