Heads-up: stairs throughout the house; take the Accessible Tour. "Fallingwater is a multi-story house museum with no elevator service... over 100 stairs". The alternative is the Accessible Tour, with first-floor access for manual chairs that fit a 27″ doorway (Fallingwater accessibility page (opens in new tab), [Official]).

Heads-up: no motorized chairs inside. "Motorized wheelchairs and scooters are not permitted inside Fallingwater" (same page).

Heads-up: the walk back from the house. "One option is an uphill, gravel path and a wooden boardwalk, the other path includes 68 stairs" (Fallingwater physical mobility page (opens in new tab), [Official]). The shuttle is the alternative.

Heads-up: gravel paths. Expect "one mile of walking on gravel paths that include both uphill and downhill terrain" (Fallingwater accessibility page (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Nov 2, 2026). Packed gravel is usually manageable with power chairs and scooters; loose or deep gravel, with wheeled walkers or manual chairs, can be difficult to impassable.
