Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania pairs a big-city science museum with gardens. In Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art says all its floors are accessible by elevator and all its restrooms are accessible. The Franklin Institute has accessible entrances at its 20th Street business entrance and through the parking garage elevators, and lends manual wheelchairs free of charge with a driver's license or photo ID.
At Independence National Historical Park, the Independence Visitor Center is fully accessible, the Liberty Bell Center is wheelchair accessible, and the first floor of Independence Hall is accessible.
In Kennett Square, Longwood Gardens has a barrier-free entrance with push-button doors, and most of its garden paths are wide and paved, with elevators to the Main Conservatory and the Main Fountain Garden Overlook.
At Gettysburg National Military Park, you can tour more than 26 miles of paved roads in your own vehicle, and the Museum & Visitor Center's public entrances are accessible.
Check closing days before you set out, and plan for some walking between sights.
