Maryland
Maryland runs from city museums to ocean beaches. In Baltimore, the National Aquarium says it is fully wheelchair accessible, with reserved wheelchair seating at Dolphin Discovery and the 4D Immersion Theater. Fort McHenry's paved Seawall Trail follows the water, and a paved pathway leads to the Star Fort. The Walters Art Museum is always free, with most galleries reached by elevator. The American Visionary Art Museum says its museum and campus are accessible to wheelchairs, and Port Discovery Children's Museum has an elevator to all floors and exhibits.
The National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation, formerly the B&O Railroad Museum, says its buildings and pathways are accessible, with room for two wheelchairs on each train ride.
On the ocean side, Assateague Island National Seashore keeps beach wheelchairs in sheds on its Maryland beaches, with beach mobility mats at North Beach and Bayside Beach.
Pack for the wind off the water, and let the day stretch out.
