Plan your visit
- Ramps: the village's attractions have "a wide ramp for wheelchair and walker access" (Vermilionville visit page (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026). Wheelchair travel writer Cory Lee found it "fully wheelchair accessible. They built ramps into all of the buildings and there were paved paths connecting the various buildings" (Curb Free with Cory Lee, Feb 1, 2021 (opens in new tab), [Trusted firsthand source]).
- Borrow a wheelchair: "If you require a wheelchair, please inquire in the gift shop and we will be happy to provide you with one for your visit" (Vermilionville visit page (opens in new tab), [Official]).
- Restrooms: a July 2026 reviewer noted restrooms at several points around the site (TripAdvisor review, Jul 10, 2026 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]; the review is in French).
- Time: the village says a tour takes "approximately an hour to an hour and thirty minutes," and admission stops at 3:00 p.m. (Vermilionville visit page (opens in new tab), [Official]).
- Service animals are welcome (same page).
Heads-up: the tack room and the ferry (2011 report). In 2011, a wheelchair traveler wrote that "with the exception of the tack room, all buildings have ramps" and that "The hand pulled ferry that crosses a small stream has a big step up and is not accessible." The same post says "Many of the buildings have narrow double doors with only one door opened," and you may need help with the latch for the second door (Rolling in an RV, Mar 17, 2011 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). That report is older, and the village now says it is completely accessible. The tack room and ferry are optional extras, so they don't change the scores. Call to check before you go.

The village says it is completely handicap-accessible (Vermilionville visit page (opens in new tab), [Official]).
- A break from the heat: "Most of the houses and buildings are air conditioned" (TripAdvisor review, Jun 15, 2026 (opens in new tab), [Secondary]). Accessibility not verified.

Four categories score 5: Vermilionville says it is completely handicap-accessible, with wide ramps at its attractions, and lends wheelchairs. Cory Lee confirms ramps into every building, paved paths between them and a fully wheelchair accessible village. Parking isn't rated yet, because the village's statement doesn't name it.
