We haven't verified that the Bridge Trail is accessible, so if you need the step-free route, plan your visit for another day.

Accessibility and ratings
What we found
Little River Falls
- What the NPS says: the area has "handicap parking spaces and a ADA boardwalk to the main falls overlook area" (NPS accessibility (opens in new tab), page updated May 8, 2025, checked Oct 14, 2026). The Places To Go page calls it "An ADA accessible boardwalk" and lists the Little River Falls Boardwalk as 0.1 mile, Easy (NPS places to go (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
- The route: you pass through a gazebo onto the boardwalk, which splits in two. One route is for people who have difficulty walking down steps. The other is shorter and goes down rock steps. Either way, it takes a few minutes to walk down to the waterfall (NPS Little River Falls (opens in new tab), page updated 2019, checked Oct 14, 2026). Visit North Alabama reports "several wheelchair accessible parking spots located at the beginning of the smooth, accessible boardwalk path," and says the path "leads you down a hill and ends at the perfect viewing platform" (Visit North Alabama (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 15, 2026). No grade is published.
- Check this (secondary source): use the ramp side only. A visitor guide with 2025 photos reports stairs at the info-shelter entrance. Wheelchair users need to take the ramp further along the sidewalk and come back the same way (National Park Planner (opens in new tab), secondary, checked Oct 14, 2026). The rock-step route isn't accessible. The same guide describes the restroom as a vault-style building, and its accessibility is still Not verified.
- Grade and width: Not verified. The NPS doesn't publish a slope or width for the boardwalk.
- Restrooms are in the center of the parking lot (NPS Little River Falls (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026). Their accessibility is Not verified.
- Parking: the paved lot often fills by 11 AM CT on late spring and summer weekends. Overflow parking is at the Little River Canyon Center from 10 AM to 4 PM, except Mondays (NPS places to go (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
Little River Canyon Center
- "Little River Canyon Visitor Center is ADA accessible for wheelchairs." The movie has captions (NPS accessibility (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
The Rim Parkway drive
- The 11-mile scenic drive has 8 overlooks among 10 stops. The full 23-mile Rim Parkway has "8 overlooks, 4 trails, 1 unique rock formation" (NPS scenic drive (opens in new tab); NPS places to go (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
- The NPS says "very little walking is required" at the pull-offs. That page was last updated in 2018 (NPS scenic drive (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
- The 11 miles from Eberhart Point to Canyon Mouth Park are steep and winding in places, and trailers and RVs can't get through (NPS places to go (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
- Eberhart Point: the NPS says "A concrete paved trail leads you to the overlook. The trail is moderate with a slight slope." (NPS Eberhart Point (opens in new tab), page dated 2018, checked Oct 14, 2026) It doesn't label the path accessible. Check this (secondary source): a visitor guide with 2025 photos calls the paved path from the parking lot "rather steep," and the right-hand fork goes down another hill to a second overlook (National Park Planner, Eberhart Point Overlook (opens in new tab), secondary, checked Oct 14, 2026). Visit North Alabama calls it "One of the most wheelchair accessible overlooks" and reports "a narrow paved path that leads to a viewing area. Parts of it are a bit bumpy" (Visit North Alabama (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 15, 2026). Heads-up: the path is narrow and bumpy in parts. The grade hasn't been measured, so if you try it, bring a helper. The trail down into the canyon isn't accessible.
- Other trails: the NPS says "The hiking trails in the park not ADA accessible, they are natural trails that can be narrow with tree roots and other tripping hazardous" [sic] (NPS accessibility (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
- Restrooms: the NPS Eberhart Point page says "At the top of the overlook is a restroom." Its accessibility is Not verified, and that page was last updated in 2018 (NPS Eberhart Point (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026). Restrooms at the other overlooks and staff help: Not verified.

The NPS says the area has “handicap parking spaces and a ADA boardwalk to the main falls overlook area.” The boardwalk is a built structure, so Paths scores 5. Entry scores 5: Visit North Alabama, a trusted source, reports accessible parking spots at the start of the accessible boardwalk path. The step-free route goes downhill; no grade is published, and missing details don't lower a score. Restroom accessibility isn't verified. Parking scores 5 (Venue states accessible): the NPS's dedicated accessibility page says "Little River Falls area has handicap parking spaces" (NPS accessibility (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 15, 2026). Van-space and access-aisle details aren't published. Overall is 5 of 5, the average of the 3 rated categories.
Ratings tagged "not personally verified" rest on information the venue published or on trusted firsthand reports; we have not personally verified them.
Heads-up: Wooden boardwalks can be slippery when wet, especially under trees; this affects people walking (including with canes or walkers) more than people in wheelchairs or scooters.

Paths scores 5 (Trusted source states accessible): Visit North Alabama, a trusted source, calls Eberhart Point one of the most wheelchair-accessible overlooks. Heads-up: it also reports the paved path is narrow and bumpy in parts. Cory Lee found the same in 2023: "It has a narrow paved path that leads to a viewing area. Parts of it are a bit bumpy, but I had no issues with it" (Curb Free with Cory Lee, Sep 7, 2023 (opens in new tab), [Trusted firsthand source], checked Oct 16, 2026). Check this (secondary source): a 2025 visitor guide calls the path "rather steep"; that doesn't change the score unless verified. Entry, Restrooms and Parking aren't described. Overall reads Not enough info yet: we show it only when at least 3 categories, including at least 2 of Entry, Paths and Restrooms, are rated.
