What other sources report (secondary; not verified)
- Paths: Visit North Alabama says "The facility is barrier-free with ramps that aren't out of the way and won't disrupt your route. Outdoor paths are paved for easy access," that "Most interactive screens have a roll-under design," and that the layout is "spacious enough that even on the most crowded days there would be no issue navigating with a wheelchair" (Visit North Alabama itinerary (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 15, 2026). Scootaround says some outdoor garden areas have uneven terrain (Scootaround (opens in new tab), [Secondary], checked Oct 14, 2026).
- Check this (trusted firsthand source): Rolling in an RV, a wheelchair-traveling blog, from November 2022 reports a long uphill walk from parking to the entrance, and says the simulators and the Apollo quarantine trailer aren't accessible (Rolling in an RV, Nov 2022 (opens in new tab), [Trusted firsthand source], checked Oct 15, 2026).
- Rides (optional): the g-force and moonshot rides and the add-on experiences "require the rider to transfer from their chair," and "The g-force experience requires that you're able to stan[d]" (Visit North Alabama itinerary (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 15, 2026). These are optional and don't lower the paths score.
- Wheelchairs: in April 2026 Visit North Alabama's parent organization donated 23 wheelchairs to the center, which says it is "already putting [them] to good use in the museum and Space Camp" (Visit North Alabama press release, Apr 13, 2026 (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 15, 2026). Visit North Alabama also reports "free wheelchair rentals" (Visit North Alabama (opens in new tab), [Trusted]), and an older copy of the admission page listed free wheelchair checkout with a photo ID. Call Guest Services to confirm.
- Campus map: a copy of the center's campus map hosted on a third-party site calls it an "ADA Accessible Facility" and mentions uniformed guides and docents. We couldn't find the original on rocketcenter.com (campus map, third-party copy (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026).
- Restrooms and parking: Scootaround reports accessible restrooms and accessible parking near the main entrance (Scootaround (opens in new tab), checked Oct 14, 2026) [Secondary].

Paths scores 5: Visit North Alabama, a trusted source, calls the building "barrier-free," with ramps and paved outdoor paths, and reports no barrier on the route. The rides that need a transfer or standing are optional. That statement covers the whole facility, so under our whole-venue rule Entry, Restrooms and Parking each score 5 (Trusted source states accessible). Check this (secondary source): a 2022 blog reports a long uphill walk from parking to the entrance; that doesn't change the score unless verified. Staff & Info scores 3: Visit North Alabama, a trusted source, reports "free wheelchair rentals" (Visit North Alabama (opens in new tab), [Trusted], checked Oct 16, 2026). Cory Lee also found "The entire facility is wheelchair accessible" (Curb Free with Cory Lee, Dec 10, 2020 (opens in new tab), [Trusted firsthand source], checked Oct 16, 2026), and Wheel the World lists a step-free entrance and an accessible public restroom (Wheel the World (opens in new tab), [Trusted source], checked Oct 16, 2026). Overall is 4.5 of 5, the average of the 5 rated categories.
Ratings tagged "not personally verified" rest on information the venue published or on trusted firsthand reports; we have not personally verified them.
