Parking heads-up: register your car or risk a $25 ticket. Parking in the museum's lot (corner of Church St and Williams Ave) is free during museum hours, but you must register your vehicle. Scan the QR code on the "PMC PAY" signs for 15 free minutes, then "continue to the museum front desk to complete 4-hour free parking." "Unable to scan the QR code? The front desk has a link to do it manually." You'll need your car tag number. "If you park in the Museum parking lot and your vehicle is not registered, you will receive a ticket. The ticket is $25" (it rises to $60 after 14 days) (parking (opens in new tab), checked Oct 15, 2026). If scanning a code is hard for you, plan to head straight to the front desk.

Paths scores 5. The museum is a built structure, and its about page says "The Museum is fully handicap accessible." (about (opens in new tab), [Official], checked Oct 15, 2026). Two wheelchair users agree: Cory Lee found the museum "entirely wheelchair accessible" (Curb Free with Cory Lee, Dec 10, 2020, updated Sep 20, 2023 (opens in new tab), [Trusted firsthand source], checked Oct 16, 2026), and a full-time wheelchair user writing for Visit North Alabama calls it "extremely wheelchair friendly, with lots of wide areas to get around" (Visit North Alabama (opens in new tab), [Trusted], undated, checked Oct 16, 2026). No published specs or official evidence show a barrier, though elevators and routes aren't described. That statement covers the whole museum, so under our whole-venue rule Entry, Restrooms and Parking each score 5 (Venue states accessible). The museum also offers a Handicap Call Box at the Davidson Entrance with security staff to help with mobility needs. Restrooms and accessible parking spaces aren't described, and missing details don't lower a score. Staff & Info is Not verified (security help is offered, but staff knowledge and loaners aren't verified). Overall is 5 of 5, the average of the 4 rated categories. Spin the Globe's Sylvia Longmire, a scooter user, also found "It was very easy to get around in my scooter" (Spin the Globe, May 8, 2017 (opens in new tab), [Secondary], checked Oct 16, 2026).

Ratings tagged "not personally verified" rest on information the venue published or on trusted firsthand reports; we have not personally verified them.
