Kentucky
Kentucky is bourbon country. Around Bardstown and Lexington, distilleries open their doors for tours and tastings, and several say they are wheelchair accessible. Near Bardstown, Log Still Distillery says its tour and tasting are "fully ADA-compliant," though it notes stairs. At Bardstown Bourbon Co., Explore Bardstown [Secondary] says some experiences are seated. In Lexington, James E. Pepper and Town Branch both run distillery tours.
This is horse country, too. The Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington has paved paths from barn to barn and a horse-drawn trolley with a ramp. In Louisville, the Muhammad Ali Center has elevator access to every level.
Underground, Mammoth Cave National Park runs an Accessible Tour with no stairs. Cory Lee (2024) writes that a ranger-operated elevator takes the tour underground. The tour is currently unavailable because of cave elevator problems (NPS alerts at nps.gov, posted May 6, 2026, [Official], checked Oct 16, 2026).
Come for a tasting, stay for the horses, and save a day for the cave.
